Party and Costume Depot opening Oct. 4 in New London

Posted

Shelves are being filled and costumes hung and ready for Halloween shoppers. Terri Fuerst has just a few days left before opening The Party and Costume Depot at 1200 North Shawano Street on Oct. 4.

You may have rented a costume from Fuerst in the past, as she has been in the costume business for five years now. She operated The Costume Depot, setting up a shop each year around town. Fuerst has outfitted area party goers with fun costumes at reasonable prices, something she intends to continue.

"Instead of running to the Valley for costumes and Halloween accessories, I have everything you need here in New London," says the new business owner.

Lifelike masks, makeup, hats and silly side accessories line her shelves. With over 500 costumes to rent, Fuerst says she has something for everyone. A fitting room is available.

All toddler and infant costumes are for sale this year, for $5 and under. She will be selling costume kits, too.

Fuerst also has a wide assortment of party supplies for all occasions.

"I've always entertained a lot at my house. We celebrate birthdays, enjoy the holidays and the change of seasons. We have a huge 4th of July party each year. Decorating and celebrating is just a big part of who I am," says Fuerst.

She has ideas for every occasion, and carries good, quality items at a fair price.

"I have sturdy paper plates, stiff drink cups and heavy duty napkins. Nothing flimsy here," says Fuerst with the voice of knowledge.

"There's nothing worse than loading up a plate that won't hold your dinner," she says.

Her shelves are lined with table dècor that ranges from anniversaries to confirmation and graduation. She has invitations, banners and all the trimmings.

Just in time for Homecoming, Fuerst has a team spirit section in the store that features wigs, beads, clappers, and rally towels in colors that match those of New London, Clintonville, Hortonville, Manawa, Shiocton and the surrounding schools. Eye blacks are popular these days, with messages written on them.

Fuerst invites you to take advantage of some clearance items she has in the store. This includes bachelorette party, wedding and kids party themes.

The Party and Costume Depot is open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturdays, starting Oct. 4. During holidays like Halloween and Christmas she will have extended hours. Check the door.
