Shirley Ann (Dewhurst) Pelkey, age 95 of New London, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Shirley was born on September 18, 1929 in Stevens Point to the late Christopher Dewhurst and Clara (Coyer) Dolloff Dewhurst. She married Israel “Izzy” Pelkey on October 29, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1989. Shirley loved to bowl, often travelling to many states for tournaments. She served on the board of directors for the Central Fox Valley Women’s Bowling Association. She also enjoyed golfing, boating and going to the casino.
Shirley is survived by her children, Don (Arlene) Pelkey and Patrick (Sharon) Pelkey; daughter-in-law, Patricia Pelkey; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Vernon Pelkey.
Per Shirley’s wishes, a private family service was held and burial took place at Floral Hill Cemetery, New London.
