Avis Gene (Smith) Pings, age 98 years and 51 weeks, died quietly in her sleep

at CrestRidge Senior Living in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, at about 3:50 am on Sunday October 29, 2023. Her passing was attended by her youngest daughter and about 1,000 angels.

Avis was born November 4, 1924 in Waupaca, WI to the late Lillian (Wied) and Ernest Vincent Smith.

Avis will also have her Funeral Mass on November 4, 2023. Visitation Services will begin at 9:00 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with Mass held directly afterwards at 11:00 AM. Avis will be buried at Guardian Angel Cemetery, next to her husband Jerry. Guests and family and friends are invited to join Avis’ children for luncheon in the church hall following the Mass.

Memorial donations may be made to Wisconsin Right To Life, or Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Stevens Point.
