In a home playoff game, the Polar Bears could not knock off Fox Valley Association rival Neenah as early back-and-forth action went in the Rockets’ favor.
Hortonville went up 12-6 as the Rockets took the early timeout after Polar Bears Ethan Joling had a steal that led to an emphatic breakaway dunk that gave his team early momentum.
Neenah came out of the timeout and began to slow down the Polar Bears as they went on an 11-6 run to take a 17-16 lead.
Neenah would go up 29-28 as they went into the locker room after a three-pointer by Joey Daun connected before halftime.
Joling has 16 first-half points for the Polar Bears.
Hortonville took back the lead, going ahead 32-29 after halftime, but Neenah would take back the lead and not relinquish it as they closed out the game with a final of 71-62 as the Polar Bears were eliminated from the playoffs.
Joling finished with a game-high 24 points for the Polar Bears.
