Valda M. Pribbernow passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024 at the age of 87 after a brief illness.
Valda was born to her late parents Hugo and Gertrude (Mussell) Pribbernow in the Town of Maple Creek. Valda lived on the family farm and attended New London schools. Upon graduating from New London High School in 1955, Valda went to work at First State Bank for 53 years until her retirement. She was honored by the Wisconsin Bankers Association for 50 year of service in the banking industry. Valda enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, traveling and bowling.
She is survived by her sisters Dorothy (Robert) Luft, Anita (the late Philip) Nickerson, her nephew Todd (Amy) Luft, niece Michelle (Kevin) Rust, and nephews Nate (Monica) Nickerson and Jeff (Jenny) Nickerson. She is further survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
Valda was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Ardis and Ruth Pribbernow.
The Funeral Service for Valda will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church in Sugar Bush with Rev. Caleb Rothfuss officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in New Maple Creek Cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to thank Stacy Huebner for the wonderful care and friendship she provided Valda. The family would also like to thank the entire staff at St. Joseph Residence, especially Washington Center and Marian Heights.
A Memorial Fund has been established for Grace Lutheran Church in Sugar Bush.
