Travel was a dynamic in his family life, including trips to Germany, to visit relatives. Maria and he enjoyed many excursions to tropical destinations, including most of the Caribbean and Tahiti.
Upon retirement, they settled in Bonita Springs, FL, where they established new friendships. After several hurricanes and the pandemic, they decided to move closer to family and settled in Raleigh, NC, where their daughter Kim and her husband had retired.
