Richard “Dick” Erich Schroeder, age 84, of Waupaca, entered into his heavenly home surrounded by his family on Monday, July 4, 2022.
He was born on March 2, 1938 in the Town of Clayton, Wisconsin, son of the late Erich & Elnora (Gallow) Schroeder. He married Gwynn Handrich, on July 18, 1987 at the Red Mill Chapel in Little Hope, south of Waupaca.
Dick owned the Friendly Bar in Weyauwega for several years. He was also a manager at Ron & Lloyds Red Owl in Weyauwega and employed at the Wisconsin Veterans Home from which he retired. Dick loved fishing and hunting with his son Rick and brother Willy. He was also an avid bowler,loved to go to casinos, loved the Packers and the Brewers!
Richard is survived by love of his life Gwynn. Son: Rick (Cindy) Schroeder and their family, Amber , Tamara (Curt) Leider, and Jade; along with great grandchildren Austin,Danielle, Jocyn and Norrel. Daughter :Dorene (Reid) Schoneberg and their family, Erica and Heather. He is also survived by Gwynn’s children: Kent (Terri) Handrich, Rhonda (Jeff) Lubinski, Jeannene (Mike) Looker, Matthew (Jackie) Handrich; and 9 grandchildren: Addie, Hannah, Jacob, Jenna (Joshua), Kalsi, KaIi (Brandon), Austin, Chase and Hudson along with great grandchildren Evan,Rheannon,Landon,Ethan and Colton. Siblings: Patt Frechette, Gloria King, Marlene (Bill) Field, Sharon Rutter, Sandy (Ray) Claussen, Willy Schroeder.
He was preceded in death by his Brother: Fred and Grandson: Justin Lubinski.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 1120 Evans Street in Waupaca with Reverend Ron Siemers officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Life Celebration Center in Weyauwega and at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM. Burial will take place in the Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
