There have been some exciting changes for both students and staff at the Iola-Scandinavia High School.
The biggest change is notebook computers for all high school students through a new Toward Rigor Relevance, Enrichment and Knowledge program (TREK). Other changes include a new writing handbook and elimination of a "bell" schedule.
"In action" tours of the high school will be provided at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24.
The tours will give residents of the school district an opportunity to see how the notebook computers are being utilized, as well as some of the changes created by the TREK program, the writing program, and an absence of bells.
The tours will be guided by members of the "Super Geek" team, the high school's in-house team of student computer experts.
Visitors also will have an opportunity to gather in the high school commons and ask questions about what they have seen, as well as enjoy some light refreshment.
