Jackson Schroeder-SPASH

Stevens Point Panthers hockey looks to add to their trophy case with another Wisconsin Valley Conference championship and a possible trip to state. A key to those hopes is Jackson Schroeder, the Panthers’ leading goal scorer in the 2023-2024 and a two-time All-State selection, who led the Panthers to the Division 1 WIAA state sectionals a season ago.

Jackson, the son of Jason and Tina, was introduced to hockey by his dad and took to the ice at eight, “My favorite part about the sport is being at the rink every day with the boys. All my friends have made me love hockey so much that I never want to quit playing the sport I love.”

Jackson’s biggest asset is his ability to find the back of the net, as he scored 30 goals a season ago. Jackson considers beating Wausau West in the first three years of his high school career his best experience playing for the Panthers, and the overtime win his sophomore season is the best moment of the rivalry.

Cole Caufield, a SPASH and Wisconsin Badgers alum and one of the NHL’s leading goal scorers this season, is the player that Jackson looks up to. “He went to Spash and played for the Wisconsin Badgers. I hope to play at a high level like him someday.”

Over his time in high school, Jackson has matured in the classroom, on the ice, and in his workouts and eating habits.

Jackson believes the skys the limit for the Panthers as he gives shout-outs to his coaches and teammates,” Matthew Pohlkamp, Nate Bolton, and coach Koss for pushing the boys every day to get better. We have the talent and depth for a state title this year.”
