Thomas Lemanczyk-Rosholt

Rosholt baseball begins its journey in the playoffs on May 29, against Wild Rose in the WIAA Regional. A component for Rosholt to be successful in the postseason is what they can do on the mound, and Rosholt’s pitcher Thomas Lemanczyk will be relied on the rest of the way.

A 2024 Second-Team All-Central Wisconsin Central-South selection, Thomas started around six years old with his father’s encouragement, “My dad introduced me to baseball. My older brother plays baseball too, so he would work with both of us.”

Earlier this season, Thomas achieved his most memorable career moment as an individual, “My most memorable experience in high school sports was throwing a five-inning, perfect game my senior year. I struck out 14 of the 15 batters with just 50 pitches. Our team won the game 14-0.”

“I think I started high school with good study habits, so balancing academics and athletics wasn’t very hard for me in high school. I’ve always ensured my schoolwork was done on time, and I studied for my tests to get good grades. I knew I could take all the time I wanted after that to play baseball.” Thomas says of his balance in the classroom and on the baseball diamond.

Thomas says of his ability as he stares down batters at the plate, “Pitching is my favorite part about baseball because it’s my way of being “in charge” of the game. It’s about strategy. I pay attention to what pitches the batter has a hard time hitting, and I try to strike the batter out. I like challenging them. Pitching is rewarding. As I got older, my speed picked up, and so did the accuracy of my pitching. I got a little better each season, and that’s exciting to see. I like being able to see the progress I’m making.”

Looking back at his personal growth, “It feels great. I think I’ve grown as a person and an athlete over the years, and I’ve become a little better each year. As an athlete, I was able to improve my skills each year. As a person and a teammate, I feel I was able to help others improve their skills. Like I said, it’s a team sport. We should all be growing and improving our skills to be our best.”
