Landon Bicknase-SPASH
As a senior, Landon Bicknase is set to capitalize on his junior season, during which he was part of the 200-yard Medley Relay team in 2024. Landon’s junior season also included top-five finishes in the 200-yard Individual Medley, 100-yard Breaststroke, 200-yard Medley relay, and 400-yard freestyle relay.
Beginning his sport at the age of 10 through the YMCA, Landon started swimming after wanting to pursue a different sport in the pool, “My mom put me on the swim team at the YMCA after I said I wanted to be on a diving team.”
Landon has performed on a national stage in his swimming career, which was highlighted by qualifying for Nationals in Greensboro, NC, with my YMCA club swim team.
A multi-sport athlete-Landon began focusing solely on swimming, “I also played football and soccer in elementary and junior high after my freshman year I switched to swimming full-time.”
The camaraderie was a factor in Landon sticking with swimming, “I like being around the guys on the team I’ve made some great friends, and the support from my coaches pushes me to be my best.”
Landon has kept his focus on a future in the pool as he has kept attention on the classroom,” When I decided I wanted to pursue swimming in college, I decided to step up my work and study more often and made time for it.”
“My breaststroke, which is currently fastest in the conference, is great for our team relay,” Landon says of his greatest asset in the pool that has helped him towards several of his achievements, including making the sectionals team as a freshman and being named Rookie of the Year.”
Landon is preparing for his career after high school as he will attend the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh to compete on the swim team and study Physical Education, “looking back I see I have come a long way with the effort I put into school and swimming.”
