STEVENS POINT — Ryan J. Lambert, 46, is facing a charge of Retail Theft (Intentionally Taking Less Than or Equal to $500) and a charge of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
According to police reports, on June 20, Lambert was asked to be trespassed from BoBabes Bubble Tea on Division Street after “making a mess in the bathroom and making employees uncomfortable.” Lambert returned to BoBabes Bubble Tea on June 21, but left before officers arrived.
On June 22, Lambert was reported to be staring at customers and staff inside Kwik Trip on Maria Drive to which the caller described as “making people uncomfortable.” Lambert had been trespassed from all Kwik Trip properties. Officers reported that Lambert was nonverbal during their interaction, but shook his head to indicate he understood the trespass and denied any help.
Later on June 22, Lambert took a Pepsi and a lighter from SP Smoke and Vape Shop on Division Street without paying, which led to the business requesting him to be trespassed. Lambert was later located at the YMCA, which also requested Lambert to be trespassed for the day. Later in the afternoon on June 22, the Salvation Army requested Lambert to be permanently trespassed.
On June 23, Lambert was trespassed from a Water Street business, to which he later returned to the same day. He was then issued a citation for trespassing. Later in the day, Lambert was a suspect of retail theft at Kwik Trip on Maria Drive and trespassing at Subway on Division Street. On June 24, Lambert was then reported to have been trespassing at Kwik Trip on Maria Drive.
On June 24, Lambert appeared by video, in custody, to a bail/bond hearing for the charge of Retail Theft (Intentionally Taking Less Than or Equal to $500). The State requested a signature bond of $500 with the conditions to have no contact with any Subway or Kwik Trip stores in Portage County. Lambert’s attorney objected to the bond and did not raise competency concerns at that time. On June 25, a signature bond of $500 was signed.
On June 25, Lambert appeared by video, in custody, to a bail/bond hearing for the charge of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. The State requested a cash bond of $150, to which Lambert’s attorney objected to. At this time, a competency evaluation was ordered and to be completed by the Department of Health Services.
Both charges Lambert is facing are classified as a Misdemeanor A charge in Wisconsin. If convicted, a Misdemeanor A charge can lead to up to nine months in jail and/or a fine up $10,000.
