Shots fired in Waupaca

Police arrested a 57-year-old Waupaca man Saturday, April 6,after he allegedly fired several rounds from a handgun.

Officers were called to the 400 block of Scott Street in response to gun shots at approximately 11:30 p.m.

When they arrived, the police determined that Viliulfo Benitez had fired a handgun following a domestic disturbance.

Benitez was taken into custody and charges of reckless endangerment, intoxicated use of a firearm and disorderly conduct were forwarded to the district attorney's office.

Police recovered a .41 Magnum handgun at the scene.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
