SPASH split doubleheader

SPASH split two games of a doubleheader on May 22 against Wausau East.

WAUSAU-SPASH made a comeback against Wausau East in their first game of the doubleheader on May 22 but fell short by a score of 5-4.

Wausau East struck first in the bottom of the first inning with an RBI single to go up 1-0. Bodee Beversdorf hit a three-run home run to push the score 4-0.

It became a 4-1 game in the top of the fifth inning, as Stevens Point’s Koy Karaliunas drove in a run to make the score 4-2.

SPASH scored two unanswered runs to tie the score 4-4 in the sixth inning before going up 5-4.

WAUSAU-In the first inning, Wausau East went up 1-0, but Stevens Point took back the lead 2-1 in the bottom of the second.

In the top of the sixth inning, Wausau East took a 4-3 lead after an RBI single. SPASH tied the game 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Jonathan Trelka slid into home plate to score and give SPASH the walk-off win.
