Wallace “Wally” E. Stanton, age 94, of the town of Lanark, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Park Vista the Legacy.

He was born in Wausau on November 10, 1929 to David and Anna (Buttke) Stanton. On September 14, 1957, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Ahles and together were blessed with four children.

Wally retired after working at Kraft Foods for 42 years.He was active in church, teaching Sunday School, serving on council, as a member of the board of elders and even helping in the construction of Calvary Lutheran Church. Wally was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying activities such as camping, biking, skiing, and identifying all different types of flowers and trees. He loved family ski trips to Colorado, which they did for nearly 20 years. Wally also enjoyed woodworking, especially scrollwork.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Phyllis; sons: Scott (Lois) of Waupaca, Tim of Beaver Dam and Bruce (Michelle) of Palmar, AK; daughter, Sue (Jim) Boshers of Waupaca; four grandchildren: Samuel, Amanda, Brian and Connor; 2 great grandchildren; brother, V.R. (Jeanette) Stanton of FL; and a sister, Beatrice Stanton of Weston.

Wally was preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly (Jim) Riedel.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Calvary Lutheran Church, E1887 King Rd, Waupaca, with Pastor Brian Roehrborn officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Park Vista the Legacy for the wonderful care given to Wally.
