The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will hold a public meeting to discuss improvements to the State Highway 49 bridge over the South Branch Little Wolf River in Iola.
The meeting is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Iola Village Hall, 180 S. Main St.
A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. The remainder of the meeting will follow an open house format.
The bridge, which was constructed in 1927, is nearing the end of its expected life. WisDOT is proposing to replace the bridge with a new structure that meets current design standards.
An improvement project is currently scheduled for 2020. State 49 be closed and detoured during construction.
WisDOT representatives are seeking input on the needs, proposed improvements and proposed traffic management strategies during construction.
