• April 28 – A male suspect matching the description from a retail theft was observed at Mead Park, left on a bike, and was later located at a tent encampment on private property. The suspect was arrested on a probation violation. The stolen property was located to be in his property.
• April 28 – A man reported that his neighbor uses portions of his own driveway to turn their vehicle around. Also the neighbor’s dog uses the bathroom on portions of the man’s yard.
April 28 – A man was outside the YMCA on Division yelling and swearing. The man was told to leave but returned to the property and continued his behavior. The male resisted arrest, but was eventually taken into custody and jailed for a warrant.
• April 28 – A Madison Elementary student left school and was walking towards home, followed by school staff. The mom was able to convince the child to return to school.
• April 28 – A man reported finding drug paraphernalia in his Clark Street home. He stated he believed it belonged to his wife.
• April 28 – Officers were dispatched to the area of Main Street and Phillips Street to recover a stolen vehicle. One man was taken into custody for an arrest warrant and the vehicle was recovered.
• April 28 – Officers responded to Stevens Point Area Senior High School to assist Portage County Health and Human Service in the transportation of one male to secure detention.
• April 28 – Officers responded to Aspirus Plover for a report of a deceased subject in a vehicle. Officers conducted an investigation and discovered the death was not suspicious.
• April 28 – Officers responded to Kash Park on Whitney Street for a report of a property crime. A witness said they observed a male put a pin in a vehicle tire.
• April 28 – A welfare check was performed after officers received a call from the VA Crisis Line. Initial information reported that a male ran out of an apartment with a knife, but after talking to both parties involved officers found no evidence of a disturbance.
• April 28 – A woman on Division Street’s Days Inn and Suites states that someone took her credit and debit cards in addition to her hotel room key. No money was missing from her bank accounts and she was advised to freeze all financial accounts.
• April 28 – A 22-year-old male on Jefferson Street was armed with a hammer and destroying property inside a residence. He was arrested and jailed on charges of misdemeanor bail jumping, felony bail jumping, and damage to property.
• April 29 – The assistant principal at Ben Franklin Junior High School requested a truancy citation for a student.
• April 29 – A woman reported a missing tool box from her garage on Walker Street.
• April 29 – A male with red shorts and a black hoodie was seen on video walking up to a residence on Texas Avenue and placing a jug of orange juice on the front step of a home.
• April 29 – A man was allowed to stay in a friends’ home due to a storm, but began acting strange and asking for DNA samples and pounding on the home’s porch.
• April 29 – A retail theft occurred at BP gas station on Division Street. The suspect was a white male wearing a grey hoodie and grey joggers.
• April 29 – Officers witnessed a vehicle vs. bicyclist crash on Maria Drive and Michigan Avenue. Wisconsin State Patrol conducted a reconstruction of the incident.
• April 30 – Officers made contact with a man who was honking his vehicle’s horn in a driveway. The man stated he was trying to get the attention of the female inside who was supposedly doing drugs.
• April 30 – A student at Ben Franklin Junior High School was seen with a vape. They handed the vape over to the assistant principal.
• April 30 – A caller requested a welfare check after seeing a female on Minnesota Avenue who appeared to be walking around and confused. She was described as only wearing a bra and leggings.
• April 30 – An officer was dispatched to Little Scholars Child Care to assist an ambulance with an infant who had been burned while sitting on a counter.
• April 30 – A caller stated he saw a male wearing a green shirt, blue jeans, and a camo hat exit an upstairs apartment unit and walk towards a parking lot. The caller told officers he believed this individual had just committed murder in the upper unit but could not justify these beliefs.
• April 30 – An officer observed a female lying on the ground near Prentice Street. The woman claimed she was dropped off by her boyfriend at the library and then walked to the Salvation Army to get some rest.
• April 30 – Officers advised individuals sleeping on the back side of the Band Shell that the park was closed for the night.
• May 1 – A business owner canceled an interview with a potential employee, which led to the potential employee repeatedly calling the business.
• May 1 – A caller informed dispatch he was almost hit by a vehicle that blew a stop sign on Church and Brawley Street.
• May 2 – A male was reportedly being pushed and chased by a man trying to steal his car at Kwik Trip.
