Stevens Point Police Report

May 23 – A suspicious male was looking into an apartment on Monroe Street. A male was later located matching the description, he stated an unknown male was stalking him and kept offering him money in exchange for sexual favors.

May 23 – A property manager on Johns Drive requested an old tenant to be trespassed.

May 23 – A physical disturbance was reported on Doolittle Drive during a custody exchange between parents who share a child.

May 23 – An officer was dispatched to the BP Gas Station on Main Street for a report of property crime. Dispatch advised that the caller had given a ride to a homeless female described as “wearing a grey sweatshirt and had bad teeth.”

May 23 – A woman was in the process of moving and left the doors to her residence closed and locked, but returned to find her front door cracked open. The residence was cleared, no one was located inside, and the woman did not see anything missing from her residence.

May 23 – A 28 year old male presented a fake $100 bill at Kuby’s Bar.

May 24 – A traffic stop on Fourth Avenue led to a female passenger being cited for open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and a male passenger who had for misdemeanor bail jumping referred.

May 24 – Officers heard what they believed to be gunshots while on a traffic stop near North Point Drive. Two calls to 911 reported hearing gunshots on the north side of Stevens Point. Officers checked the area and located multiple hand gun shell casings in the road.

May 24 – A woman reported that a driver backing up in the Buffalo Wild Wings parking lot almost hit her son. The driver was 79 years old and stated they did not see her son when backing up.

May 24 – A woman requested resources for her child who is misbehaving.

May 24 – Dispatch advised officers that a blue Chrysler sedan was driving erratically towards The Square, driving into oncoming traffic, possibly hitting other vehicles.

May 25 – A male caller reported that he thought someone was breaking into his house on Dixon Street. He stated that a person was tearing the door off the hinges. Officers arrived and did not locate any evidence of a break in. The male caller would not come to the door for officers.

May 25 – An officer was dispatched to Indiana Avenue for a report of a suspicious incident. According to dispatch, the caller’s ex-boyfriend attempted to break into her apartment by breaking the door down.

May 25 – Officers responded to Fifth Street for a disturbance between a child and parent. The child agreed to stay calm while they waited for a relative to come and pick them up.

May 25 – A male stole multiple items from the Smoke Shop on Division Street, including a bike outside the store that belonged to a customer. The male was later identified by a fellow officer in relation to another theft that occurred at a different establishment.

May 26 – Two individuals called dispatch on each other. The 68 year old man claims he was almost hit by a woman while driving because she was not paying attention and he attempted to follow her home to yell at her. The 20 year old woman wished to complain that the man followed her home and that she did not almost hit him.

May 26 – A family wanted to report their son missing after going on a date with someone from the internet. The male did not contact the family after the date like he was supposed to.

May 27 – A garbage can was reported missing on Union Street.

May 27 – A welfare check was conducted on Fifth Avenue for a child. Upon arrival to the residence, there was no answer at the door and a male appeared to be non-responsive in the living room. Forced entry was made and CPS removed the child.

May 27 – A woman from Massachusetts called to request a welfare check on a 12 year old child who she believed is being abused.

May 27 – A call was received about a caller being mad at his mom; the caller was informed to only use 911 for emergencies.

May 27 – A DoorDash driver was shining a flashlight on house numbers to see where to leave a delivery, which led to a call being reported about suspicious behavior.

May 28 – Officers responded to Dixon Street for reports of a hit and run of a stop sign. The vehicle that stuck the stop sign left its’ license plate behind, which led officers to the identity of the driver who was severely intoxicated and arrested for OWI 1st offense.

May 28 – Officers took a complaint of an unwanted female on private property. Officers identified an intoxicated female who was on probation with rules to not possess or consume alcohol.

May 28 – A bus driver reported seeing three students taking hits from a vaping device that emitted the odor of marijuana.

May 28 – An officer responded to Fremont Street for reports of stolen Amazon packages.
