Stevens Point Sixers lose American Legion game

Stevens Point Sixers lost in American Legion play in Wisconsin Rapids against Menomonie Post 32 on June 28.

Koy Karaliunas’s sacrifice fly drove in the first run of the game in the opening inning to make the score 1-0.

Menomonie tied up the score in the bottom of the first after an RBI single by Bailey Casey. Andrew Hoff made the score 2-1 with an RBI base hit.

Hawkins Anderson made the score 3-1 with a base hit, and Hoff scored a run to make the score 4-1 in the third inning.

Charlie Mikesell drove in three runs to make the score 7-1 to end the third inning.

In the eighth inning, Anderson drove in another run to make the score 8-1.
Peyton Flees gave Stevens Point a run with a base hit RBI to cut the deficit to 8-2.

A base hit RBI, and a groundout to drive in a run made the deficit 8-4.
It was a 9-4 lead for Menomonie as Anderson drove another run in the bottom of the sixth.

Stevens Point scored one more run but could not mount a comeback losing 9-5.
