A westbound truck in the eastbound lane collided head-on with an oncoming sports utility vehicle around 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16.
The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 10 east of County Trunk X in rural Weyauwega.
Shortly before the crash, the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a pickup traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of U.S. 10.
Four passengers were in the SUV. Three people were pronounced dead at the scene. One was transported to a hospital for life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup was transported for critical injuries.
Law enforcement believes alcohol was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
