Thunderbirds have no answer for School

Mitchell School scored a game-high 25 as Wittenberg-Birnamwood picked up a 59-46 win over Iola-Scandinavia Jan. 18 in a Central Wisconsin 8 Conference boys' basketball matchup.

The Thunderbirds trailed 15-6 after one quarter, 25-16 at halftime and 38-22 after three quarters before outscoring the visitors 24-21 over the final eight minutes.

John Prahl and Kristian Welch combined for seven three-pointers and led the T-Birds with 19 and 15 points respectively, but no other T-Bird scored more than three points.

The T-Birds played at Stevens Point Pacelli Jan. 22 and will host Shiocton at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25.
