MARION-The Iola-Scandinavia softball team beat Marion, 14-3, in a non-conference matchup at
Marion.
The Thunderbirds improved their overall record to 2-2.
The Thunderbirds had a 4-1 lead after three innings but broke the close game open with a five-run fourth inning and added five more runs in the fifth and sixth innings. The game stopped after the sixth inning due to a ten-run mercy ruling.
The Thunderbirds had eight different batters get a hit. Junior Natalie Schwirtz had two hits, including a two-run triple in the fifth inning. Katie Rosenthal and Braelyn Jueds drove in three and two runs, respectively. Pitcher Charlotte Isermann pitched all six innings to earn the win for the T-Birds. Isermann allowed one walk while striking out six batters.

Nekoosa 1
IOLA-The Iola-Scandinavia softball team beat Nekoosa, 8-1, in a non-conference game at Iola.
The Thunderbirds improved their overall record to 3-2.
After Nekoosa tied the game, 1-1, in the top of the third inning, the Thunderbirds scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning and added two more runs in the fourth inning for the final 8-1 score.
Pitcher Rayanne Clendenning went the distance to earn the win for the Thunderbirds.
Clendenning allowed only four hits and had no walks while striking out 13 batters.
Iola-Scandinavia had 11 hits in the game. Ava Printz had three hits, while Brylee Jueds had two hits, including a two-run single in the third inning. Maya Munoz had two-run singles in the third and fourth innings.
