Both teams had dominant rushing performances as the Thunderbirds pulled away in the second half to win 46-29.
The Thunderbirds outrushed the Warhawks 475-324 yards, also scoring six touchdowns to the Warhawks four.
In a game that was an early battle for momentum from both teams, the Thunderbirds struck first after their opening drive resulted in a one-yard touchdown run by running back Ryan Kampert to make it 6-0.
The Warhawks answered with a touchdown on a 36-yard run by running back Dawson Lind and added an extra point to make it 7-6.
In the second quarter, The Thunderbirds went back on top after an 11-yard touchdown run by Jensen Rice to make the score 12-7.
A fumble recovery by Warhawks Carter Birdyshaw set up a 27-yard touchdown run by Lind to give his team a 14-12 lead.
The Thunderbirds went back up after a 32-yard reception by Korz Loken, set up a goalline touchdown by Rice to make it 18-14.
Lind, who rushed for 170 yards, scored his third touchdown for the Warhawks on a five-yard carry to make the lead 21-18 in the third quarter.
The Thunderbirds took back the lead as Kampert scored on a five-yard touchdown run to make it a 25-21 game.
Before the end of the third quarter, the Thunderbirds forced a turnover on downs to get the ball back and a two-yard touchdown run by Kampert, who rushed for 174 yards in the game, scored his third to make it 39-21.
Warhawks quarterback Kameron Zielke scored on a 15-yard touchdown run to cut the Thunderbirds lead to 39-29 in the fourth quarter.
Rice completed 8-of-10 passes for 112 yards through the air and a touchdown, racking up 294 yards rushing and scoring his third touchdown to cap off the 46-29 win.
