Truckers face tough time against Freedom

Posted

The Clintonville Truckers were dealt with a tough task on Feb 3, as they hosted the Freedom Irish who were the 2025 Division 3 state runner-ups led by one of the best players in the state.

One of the top recruits in the nation for the class of 2027, Freedom’s Donovan Davis delivered a standout all-around performance for leading the way with 23 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists. Davis was highly efficient, converting 11 of 15 shots, and consistently created opportunities for teammates while controlling the tempo on both ends of the floor.

Freedom jumped out early and dominated throughout the matchup taking a 43-21 lead into halftime, and not letting their foot off the gas as they outscored the Truckers 38-24 in the second half. Freedom extended their record to 17-1, as they defeated Clintonville 81-45.

Clintonville was led by Bryer Hagberg, who scored 17 points on 8-of-17 shooting. Max Young added eight points and six assists, but consistent scoring was hard to come by as Freedom held the Truckers to 45 points and just 33.3% shooting from the free-throw line.
