Jill L. (Rolfs) Vergauwen, age 61, of Waupaca, WI, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 2, 2023 in Waupaca.
She was born June 23, 1962 in Neenah, WI; daughter of James and Patsy Ann (DeMasters) Rolfs. Jill grew up in the Pine Hill Road area with her ten brothers and two sisters and attended Weyauwega schools. In 1979 on a blind date, she met the love of her life (not knowing at the time), Ken Vergauwen, and for 42 years they were seldom apart. Jill lived a very simple life, never asking for anything from anyone. She loved camping and sitting around a campfire with her family and friends, who were the most important to her. Jill will be dearly missed by all of her loving family and friends.
Jill is survived by her husband Ken Vergauwen of Waupaca; three sons Jack “JT” (Amy) Vergauwen, Eric (Andrea) Vergauwen, and Tony (Nikki) Vergauwen; four blessed grandchildren Ryder, Addison, Piper, and Finn; seven siblings Jeanene (Greg) Peterson, Bruce (Kim) Rolfs, Bryan Rolfs, Joel Rolfs, Scott Rolfs, Lee (Sheila) Rolfs, and Tim Rolfs; and also by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Patsy Rolfs; two sisters Sandra “Sandy” Rolfs (infant) and Jan Seward (twin sister); and four brothers James “Jamie”, Kurt, William “Bill”, and Mark Rolfs.
A Celebration of Life Gathering was held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Vergauwen Home. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.
