Historic Wrolstad-Quien Victorian home in Scandinavia open for tours Halloween weekend
The Victorian House Tour & Craft Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, through Sunday, Nov. 1, at 255 Mill St. in Scandinavia.
The cost is $2 per person . Proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Waupaca County.
The event includes a tour of a restored Victorian-style house, fortune telling and a craft show.
Various artisans will demonstrate and sell items including loomed rugs, jellies and jams, acrylic and watercolor paintings, wood carved ornaments, handmade jewelry, queen size quilts, and holiday decorations.
The Scandinavia Village Library will serve chili and desserts.
A local logger, John Olson Wrolstad, built the house in 1893, the same year as Chicago’s famous Columbian Exposition.
The Victorian home features stained glass windows and frosted etched-glass doors, fancy wood spandrels, built-in cabinets and faux bois woodwork.
