Weyauwega-Fremont’s boys’ basketball team opened its Central Wisconsin Conference-East schedule on the road Dec. 8 and returned home from Manawa with a 57-53 win.
The Warhawks led 26-20 at halftime and led by as many as 14 points in the second half before Manawa cut into the lead late in the game.
Caleb Leschke led Weyauwega-Fremont with 16 points, while Broc Billington and Brayden Arndt added 14 and 12, respectively.
Vincente Timm scored 18 of his game-high 20 points in the second half to lead Manawa, while Nathan Gorman added 17.
Both teams have CWC-East games scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 14. Weyauwega-Fremont will host Bonduel and Manawa will head to Shiocton.
