In the Wickersham Memorial Christmas Classic on Dec. 21, the Weyauwega-Fremont Warhawks showed why they are the top-ranked team in the state. They set a new record for the invitational, scoring 509.0 points as a team.
Wrestlers competing for the Warhawks won at least two matches and placed in their bracket.
Sophomore Carter Birdyshaw won the 144-pound weight class, defeating Kenosha Tremper’s Nathan Hines 11-2 in the first-place match.
Freshman Collin Hamm won the 150-pound division, defeating Lincoln Keller of Evansville by a 14-2 fall to win the bracket.
