The Waupaca Comets got a North Eastern Conference win over the Little Chute Mustangs at home on April 8, as they delivered a 3-2 comeback victory.
In the top of the third inning, the Mustangs took the lead as Reece Jotun hit into an error to get to first base and bring a runner in for a score to give his team a 1-0 lead.
The Mustangs took a 2-0 lead in on the next at-bat in the inning as Ethan Melendrez scored as he stole home plate.
AJ Macdonald drove in a run in the bottom of the sixth inning for Waupaca as he laid down a bunt that brought in a runner from third base. Macdonald was safe at first base after an overthrow to the first baseman to cut into Little Chute’s lead 2-1.
Ethan Harms single-tied the game in the sixth inning at 2-2 for Waupaca, and Cory Ellenich drove in the would-be game-winning run as he singled to the outfield to seal a conference victory.
