Waupaca Comets got their first win of the season as they defeated the rival New London Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs had a turnover on downs on their opening drive, leading to a Waupaca touchdown as Kanye Bessman took a handoff 15 yards for a score to put the Comets up 7-0.
Bessman was not done, as he put the Comets ahead 14-0 in the second quarter with a touchdown run from five yards out.
With less than a minute to go, the Comets scored their third rushing touchdown when Austin Adamczak scored on an eight-yard quarterback keeper to put Waupaca up 21-0.
Adamczak on his team’s first win, “I’m really happy for our guys, we come to work every single week and I think we deserve it.”
New London got on the scoreboard when they drove down to the one-yard line and quarterback Cory Brooker dove into the end zone for a score, and scored again on the two-point conversion attempt to make the score 21-8.
A touchdown pass to Westen Lauritzen was the final score of the game as he caught a four-yard touchdown pass to make the score 28-8.
