Weller, Jack and Robbie

Posted

Jack and Robbie Weller went into eternal life in 2024, after 60 wonderful years together that sparked from a chance encounter in Naples, Italy in 1964.

They are survived by their loving family, including their children, Nicole (Bomber) Wanty, Eve (James) Barrett & Michele Ray, several grandchildren & great grandchildren. This obituary serves as our final act for our parents, who made us who we are today, so we celebrate their lives, as we enjoyed being a part of their journey.

In 1964, Dad, a dedicated career Navy man, met Mom, a talented teacher from Liverpool, England, while sailing the seven seas. Their encounter blossomed into a loving partnership that spanned over five decades. Together, they raised their family at multiple stations, settling in Cherryfield, Maine, where Mom taught at Narraguagus High School for 30 years, inspiring generations of students with her passion for literature and the fine arts. Dad continued to serve his community and country, fostering a deep devotion to Patriotism that inspired those around him.

Following their retirement in 2006, they returned to Dad’s home in Waupaca, Wisconsin, where they enjoyed their final chapter together. They spent their golden years traveling, reconnecting with friends, and cherishing time with family. Mom and Dad’s final home was at the Wisconsin Veterans’ Home, in Waupaca, where Dad was able to be surrounded by his Patriotic compass and Mrs. Weller had her ‘room’ back. Our frequent visits allowed us to see Mom surrounded by staff, enjoying her stories and memories of her life in England, as well as her students and friends at Narraguagus High School.

Their love, commitment and generosity of spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew them. The family will be having a private celebration of life for them in the next coming months.

During their final years, the staff at Wisconsin Veterans’ Home became an integral part of the Weller Family. Our family was able to enjoy our many visits and allowed us to spoil Mom and Dad with trips, dinners & walks around their ‘Lake Home’, as the staff provided superior care with their needs. Theda Care Hospice also went above and beyond to provide our family the comfort our parents needed in their final days & hours.

Dad, you’ll be thrilled to know TRUMP will be our President again, promising to Make America Great Again! And Mom, don’t forget to curtsy when you see the Queen, enjoy a snifter of brandy with Churchill and get that red pen out for Shakespeare’s latest playscript. We’re celebrating your reunion, Mom & Dad!
