WIAA girls’ soccer playoff results

LOCAL-After a week of regional soccer, one local team remains as Waupaca wins a regional championship. Regional Tuesday, June 3 Kimberly 4, Hortonville 0 KIMBERLY-Hortonville was not able to find the net against Kimberly in the opening round of the playoffs. D.C. Everest 4, SPASH 1 WESTON- Isabelle Stevens was the lone goal scorer for Stevens Point, as they were eliminated from the playoffs. Wednesday, June 4 Clintonville 2, Little Chute 1 LITTLE CHUTE- The Truckers got their first win of the season as they defeated Little Chute. Thursday, June 5 Waupaca 7, Medford 0 WAUPACA-Four different players scored for the Comets, including Taylor Kling, who scored a hat trick to advance to the next round. Ashland 7, Amherst/Iola-Scandinavia 0 ASHLAND- Amherst/Iola-Scandinavia co-op was eliminated after going scoreless against Ashland. Howards Grove 14, Clintonville 0 HOWARDS GROVE- Clintonville could not keep pace with Howards Grove as they were eliminated. Cedar Grove-Belgium 11, New London 0 CEDAR GROVE-Cedar Grove-Belgium ended the Bulldog’s season at home. Saturday, June 7 Waupaca 2, Rhinelander 1 RHINELANDER- Waupaca Girls soccer advances to the sectionals after winning the regional final on the road.
