Woodland workshop registration due Feb. 15

Posted

A woodland workshop will be held from 6-8 p.m. March 4 and March 18 at Fox Valley Regional Center, Clintonville.

The deadline to register for the two-part series is Feb. 15.

The Ties To The Land workshop focuses on ways to maintain family ties to the land from generation to generation by creating a succession

plan.

A succession plan helps transfer, from one generation to the next, the vision, the passion and the skills needed to be good stewards of the

family's land.

It is the first step to creating an estate plan which directs the transfer of assets.

This workshop is a mix of presentations and practical sharing and communication exercises to help families develop techniques needed to

address these issues.

Generations of families are encouraged to attend the workshop together.

Registrants will receive a copy of the Ties to the Land workbook and additional resources designed to help families talk to each other

about the future of their woodlands.

The family woods is a special place, whether it is for hunting, a get-away, or to grow timber as an investment.

While the family enjoys the woods now, they need to think about who might enjoy it in the future.

Will the land be passed on to the next generation?

This workshop is ideal for anyone who has the vision of passing the family woodland on to their relatives or others.

This dream will take some effort and the creation of a well thought-out succession plan.

Pre-registration is required and classes are limited to a maximum of 30 participants per location and minimum of 10 participants to hold

class.

No registration confirmation will be sent.

However, registrants will be contacted if their selected location has filled or is canceled.

The cost is $50 per person or $60 per couple for members of Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association (WWOA), and $95 per person or $120 per

couple for non-members.

To preregister, send a check payable to WWOA, also name(s), address, daytime phone or email and workshop location and dates to: WWOA, Ties To The Land, PO Box 285, Stevens Point, WI 54481.
