Menge, Arden

Arden Menge, age 72, of Waupaca, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at his home. He was born on October 28, 1937, in Tigerton, son of the late Alfred and Myrtle (Salzman) Menge. After graduating from Tigerton High School, he moved to Milwaukee. He married Sandra Van Eyck who preceded him in death. They had two sons, Randy and Mark. He then married Sioux Seckinger and they moved to Tomahawk in 1973. She also preceded him in death. Arden started a salvage yard and an auto repair business while in Tomahawk. He was an active member at Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomahawk where he served on the council. On May 13, 1995 he married Judith Ranta. He retired and they moved to Waupaca. He was a member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega where he served on the council, and as a trustee, and was presently an elder on the Evangelism Committee. Arden enjoyed working with old antique car parts and also vending at the Iola Car Show. He is survived by his wife, Judith; sons: Randy (Jill) Menge and Mark (Pam) Menge; step-sons: Robert Seckinger, Norman (Rhonda) Seckinger, Charles Seckinger, David (Kathy) Thetford, Steve (Robbin) Ranta; step-daughters: Rita (Roberd) Bostick, Lynn (Jon) Woller; step-granddaughters: Katie and Krista Woller, Jennifer and Sarah Ranta, Cheyenne Pfuhl; sister: Gloria (Donald) Fisher; step-brothers: Jim (Barbara) Menge, Richard (Renata) Menge; step-sisters: Patsy Krisel, Diane Ringel, Debra (Terry) Deruchowski, Linda (Lowell) Johnson and Betty (Carl) Kriesel and Carol Menge. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first two wives, Sandra Van Eyck and Sioux Seckinger, and a brother, Harold. The Christian Funeral for Arden was held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Robbin Robbert and Rev. Dennis Lemke officiating. Burial was in the Union Cemetery in Tigerton. Friends called directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Please make donations to St. Peter Ev.
