Manawa rodeo seeks queen

Applications are now available for the Mid-Western Rodeo Queen Contest.

The contest will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Manawa Rodeo grounds.

The contestant selected will reign over the Manawa Lions-sponsored 53rd annual Mid-Western Rodeo held July 1-3, and attend other area parades and events.

To qualify, a contestant must be 17 years of age – no older than 23, as of competition date, a legal resident of Wisconsin, never married or had a child. Queen candidates must have good speaking ability, must be a seasoned and confident horseback rider, and also have use of a horse to participate in events. Contestant shall reside within 60 miles of Waupaca County.
