Church program set for Oct. 17-19

WAUPACA – St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community will present “Celebrating God’s Gifts” Sunday, Oct. 17, through Tuesday, Oct. 19.

Rev. Jim Friedel will lead the talks, which will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. each day. All are invited to attend.

Friedel, of Olympia Fields, Ill., is an Augustinian priest who has served as an associate pastor and a pastor. He has worked in the Chicago Archdiocesan Office for Marriage and Family Life and was the director of Marriage Encounter for several years.

He has also been involved in the ministry to the divorced. Friedel has been conducting parish missions and retreats since 1990.

“Celebrating God’s Gifts” will provide those who attend with the opportunity to consider the gifts God has given them and to explore how God may be calling them to use those gifts.

This year’s event will include a Parish Mission Dinner, being served from 5-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17.

Pre-registration is appreciated by calling the parish office at 715-258-2088.

Refreshments will follow the Oct. 18 and 19 evening talks. Free babysitting and transportation are also available.

St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community is located at N2845 Shadow Road, near the intersection of U.S. Highway 10 and State Highway 22.
