Oaks, Charlotte A

Charlotte A. (Becker) Oaks, Sr., 87, of Oshkosh, died Monday, November 8, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. She was born May 21, l923, in Oshkosh, the daughter of the late Otto and Wilhelmina (Wegner) Becker. She married Robert M. Oaks, Sr. on February 7, 1942 in Waukegan, IL. They were married for 53 years until his death in 1995. Once her 5 children were mostly grown, she joined Bob in the operation of the family business, Oaks Candy of Oshkosh. She remained very much involved and an integral part of the business until just recently. She is survived by her five children: Patricia (Roman) Jungers of Waupaca, WI, Barbara (Steven) Fogtman of Oshkosh, Robert (Gus) Jr. (Karen) Oaks of Oshkosh, William Oaks of Omro, and John (Linda) Oaks of Wrightstown, WI; 17 grandchildren, including Michael (Lori) Jungers and Peter Jungers of Waupaca; 24 great-grandchildren, including Kimberly and Courtney Jungers and Nicholas and Claire Jungers all of Waupaca; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents, a brother, a sister, and Bob’s three brothers. A memorial service for Charlotte was held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2010, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, East side, Oshkosh, WI.
