Karen R. Dombrowski, Amherst Jct., Wisconsin, age 37, was suddenly taken away, on Sunday, May 15, 2011, in the Town of New Hope, WI. She was born January 16, 1974, in Stevens Point, WI; daughter of Joel Zarnke, Sr. and Joan (Anderson-Wilson) Zarnke. On August 16, 1997, Karen married Michael Dombrowski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, WI. She was a loving mother who enjoyed watching her children participate in their sporting events. Karen was an avid outdoors woman, who enjoyed hunting, gardening, and just nature itself. She will be deeply missed by all of her loving family and many friends. Karen is survived by: Husband; Michael Dombrowski, of Amherst Jct., WI, Children; Isaak and River Dombrowski, of Amherst Jct., WI, Father; Joel Zarnke, Sr. of Glendale, WI, Sisters; Sherry (Walt) Doney, of Casper, WY, Terri (Rick) Soper, of Almond, WI, Laurie (John) Swetalla, of Stevens Point, WI, Brother; Brock (Sarah Rajski) Zarnke, of Amherst Jct., WI.; Sister-in-law; Brandi (Zarnke) Marquard, of Amherst, WI,; Mother-in-law; Joyce (Gerald) Gagas, of Scandinavia, WI, Brothers-in-law; Kenneth (Deb) Dombrowski, of Amherst Jct., WI, Allen (Kasha) Dombrowski, of Amherst Jct., WI, Sisters-in-law; Karen (Kevin) Retzke, of Rockford, IL, Kathy (Roy) Jerzak of Plover, WI, Kristine (Mike) Mundl, of Grand Chute, WI, Nancy Steffen of Oshkosh, WI, Terri (Craig) Singer, of Amherst Jct., WI. Karen is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Zarnke; a brother, Joel Zarnke, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Anton and Esther Anderson; paternal grandparents, Robert Zarnke and Helen (Kenneth) Storm; a niece, Amanda Soper; and her father-in-law, Dennis Dombrowski. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday, May 27, 2011, at 10:00 A.M., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, WI. Father Jerzy Rebacz, will preside. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, May 26, from 3:00 – 9:00 P.M., at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst, WI, with a Rosary Service to be held at 8:00 P.M. A visitation will also be from 9:00 – 10:00 A.M., at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery, in the Town of New Hope, following the mass on Friday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Karen’s children, Isaak and River Dombrowski. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
