The Manawa School District is getting ready to start the new year with some new faces in the administration.
Joining the staff will be; Megan Yeska, as Elementary School Principal and Ed Dombrowski, as District Administrator. Duane Braun, who has been with the district for many years, takes on the position as JR/High School Principal.
Yeska, who comes from Waupaca where she was Dean of Students, is looking forward to the new year. “This is my first year as a Principal. The biggest difference for me is that I don’t know anyone yet. I look forward to being a Wolf!”
“I will also serve as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction,” states Yeska. “With the new Response to Intervention Program (RTI), I am going to be very busy. It’s going to require a lot of professional development amongst our staff and it will be a slow, but very important process.”
Dombrowski, who is originally from Brooklyn, New York, now resides in Winneconne. For the past few years, he has been the Interim Superintendant, for the Osseo-Fairchild School District.
“I look forward to getting to know and working together with our staff, student, Board Members and community,” says Dombrowski. “I want the staff, students and community to know that my door is always open if you wish to talk or visit. My aim is to openly communicate with our community and be as transparent as possible about our school district.” Dombrowski will also serve as Director of Transportation.
Though not new to the District, Duane Braun, will now be the Jr/High School Principal, a role he has had in the past. “I had one year left on my contract as Administrator and there was a concern that the position may go to part-time after that year,” states Braun. “With the opening of the High School Principal position, which was a two year contract, I decided to go there.” Braun served as both District Administrator and Elementary Principal last year. “I am excited.” He adds, “As Administrator, I had a lot of meetings throughout the day. Now I will have the time for more interaction with the students.” He goes on to say, “It will definitely be different from last year. I got lots of hugs from all the little ones at the Elementary school.” In addition, Braun will over-see the Building and Grounds Department. The Administrative team agrees that they are looking forward to getting to know each other. Yeska adds, “We have to find out what our strengths are and support each other.”
