Lady Truckers lose to Indians, Tigers

Time was not on the Truckers’ side after falling behind early against the Berlin Indians. Though Clintonville mounted a comeback, they were not able to catch up to Berlin before the final horn sounded.

Berlin led 14-8 after one quarter and 27-18 at halftime. The Truckers fought back in the third period, outscoring the Indians 14-6. Clintonville also outscored Berlin in the final frame, 21-11, but it wasn’t enough to overtake the Indians, who escaped with a 52-45 win.

Dayna Seymour and Hailey Sorenson both had 10 points to lead the Truckers, while Allison Shepard and Markiesa Westphal both scored seven. Brittany Hoffman added six, while Stacy Reinke scored five.

The Indians made three 3-point shots, while the Truckers made none. Clintonville was 13 of 15 from the free throw line, and Berlin made 17 of 23 from the charity stripe.

The Truckers led 14-12 after one quarter but were outscored 4-13 to trail 18-25 at the half. The Tigers outscored the Truckers 12-8 in the third quarter and 14-9 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

The Lady Truckers will play at home on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The game is slated to begin at 7:15 p.m.
