MEET THE ARTISTS

Three well-known Wisconsin artists, Judy Bridges, Michael Patrick and Selene Bloedorn-Saeed, will welcome visitors to the Waupaca Community Arts Center “Meet the Artists” event, Thursday, July 19, 2012, 5 PM to 8 PM, at 200 N Main St., in Waupaca.

Writer Judy Bridges is the author of the award winning writers’ guide, “Shut Up & Write!” She is the founder of Redbird Studio, a writing center where thousands of people have come to learn about writing, improve their skills, get and give valuable feedback from fellow writers, and make lasting friendships.

For over twenty years, Judy has been living her passion to help people write, now she is taking time to write a collection of humorous and touching family stories titled, You Drive, You’re Too Drunk To Sing. Judy will read selections from the book at this event.

Photographer Michael Patrick began learning the art and techniques of film photography about 50 years ago. He was guided by what he saw or read by masters of the art. Roughly ten years ago, he “discovered” digital photography, and began to learn a different way to work with images; capturing images with a sensor rather than on film. It is an ongoing learning experience.

Michael says that one of the most important things in his life is to share his existence with others through his photography. A number of Micheal’s photos will be on display.

Selene Bloedorn-Saeed is a resident artist at the Waupaca Community Arts Center and the owner of @Glacial Acres, a wool, yarn and gift shop located within the Waupaca Community Arts Center.

A married mother who home schools her three children, she also runs a small farmette near Waupaca, tending to a horse, a miniature donkey, poultry of all sorts, and her beloved goats.

Selene’s shop will be open for business and many fine hand-made fiber items will be available at the Arts Center.
