Our country cannot afford to keep spending

Maybe you’ve seen something like this before but it’s worth looking at it again.

Reports place our national debt at about $14 trillion. I wonder how many U.S. citizens realize how much a trillion dollars is? Well, it’s one million million. A million is a lot. A million million is hard to comprehend.

Suppose we want to pay off the $14 trillion national debt. Maybe we should hit up the millionaires. It would take 14 million people, each giving $1 million to do it. There are only about three million millionaires in the U.S., which would leave us 11 million millionaires short. How about asking the billionaires? It would take 14,000 of them, each giving a billion to pay it off. Latest statistics show there are about 400 billionaires in the country so we have to find 13,600 more billionaires. How about all the citizens paying it. This would mean about $45,000 for each man, women and child in this country. Big trouble paying it off? You bet. Your children, grandchildren, and probably your great grandchildren are on the hook for it.

The current administration has basically doubled the national debt in the last four years. Do you believe the Democratic spending policies are going to stop? Think about that when you go to the polls.
