FFA receives national ranking

The Weyauwega-Fremont FFA was selected as three-star winner in the National Chapter award program.

The National FFA selected W-F FFA from among a pool of 660 candidates nationwide.

Twelve chapter members were invited to receive the award at the National FFA convention in Indianapolis, which was held Oct. 24-27.

The award requires that the chapter have a detailed program of activities, which provides opportunities for members in areas of chapter development, student development and community development.

Participating in the convention were Liz Hillskotter, Mark Buchholtz, Kalyn Schwartz, Vibiana Cruz, Jane Beyer, Georgia Radtke, Alexis Kloehn, Austen Baehman, Brandon Loehrke, Nathan Stelzner, Rudy Zueleger and Taylor Miller.

The W-F FFA members also participated in the “Rally to Fight Hunger” program, as part of the convention.

With the assistance of more than 9,500 FFA members, advisers and guests, more than 1 million meals were packaged.

Half of the meals will be staying in Indianapolis, and half will be going to Haiti.

During the convention, FFA members had the opportunity to listen to motivational speakers, attend convention sessions presented by National FFA officers, participate in awards which were given to FFA members and chapters from throughout the nation, attend the national FFA career show and visit with colleges and businesses from throughout the United States.
