Steingraber leads Bulldogs over W-F

The Weyauwega-Fremont boys’ basketball team did not have an answer for New London’s Chris Steingraber.

The scored 10 of his team’s 21 first-quarter points and finished with a game-high 22 Dec. 18 in the Bulldogs’ 85-55 nonconference win over the Indians in Weyauwega.

New London led 21-12 after one quarter and 40-26 at halftime before outscoring the Indians 45-29 in the second half.

Luke Listle, Jacob Pinch and Ryan Wolf also finished in double figures for the Bulldogs with 17, 14 and 10 points, respectively, while Bryce Behn, suiting up for the first time this season, led W-F with 14 points. Trevor Fitzpatrick added 11 for the Indians, while Adam Krause finished with nine.

The Indians were scheduled to play Wisconsin Valley Lutheran in Mosinee Dec. 20 and will head to Wrightstown tonight (Thursday, Dec. 27) and Friday, Dec. 28, for the Wrightstown Invitational. W-F will return to Central Wisconsin 8 Conference action Friday, Jan. 4, at home against Stevens Point Pacelli.
