Stoeger, Doris C.

Doris C. Stoeger, age 79, of Medina, passed away on Saturday December 29, 2012, surrounded by her loving family at St. Joseph Residence in New London.

She was born on July 30, 1933 in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Isadore and Hazel (Hanson) Steffani. On April 22, 1954 she was united in marriage to Fred Stoeger. Doris was a very generous and giving person and no matter how busy or chaotic her house was, there was always room for one more. Doris opened her home and heart to several boys she had taken in over the years. She put everyone else first and was a natural caregiver. Her husband Fred thought she was the nicest person he had ever met in his entire life. She was a fantastic cook and had a great sense of humor. Doris was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren and extended family. Doris enjoyed being a homemaker and in her later years she was an in home caregiver and also a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul in Appleton.

She is survived by: her husband, Fred; two daughters, Patricia (Steve) Grunwald, Fremont; Juli (Jeff) Schuh and their children Conor and Cole, Hortonville; four sons, Tom Stoeger and his children Dylan and Monica, Appleton; Bob (Debbie) Stoeger and their children Shauna and Chase, Hortonville; Fred (Erica) Stoeger and their children Brett, Braden, Benjamin, Hortonville; Ed (Kathy) Stoeger and their children Zachary, Steffani, Jacob, Hortonville, and one brother, Tom (Louise) Stephani, New London. She is further survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her special dog Snickers. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son James, a brother Bernard and a daughter-in-law Nanette.

The funeral service for Doris was held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday January 2, 2013, at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville with Greg Layton officiating. Visitation was at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in the Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Hortonville. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff, especially the physical therapy and nursing departments at St. Joseph Residence where Doris always said they treated her like a queen and to Aunt Mary for her kindness and friendship.
