Five players scored twice for the Waupaca Area girls’ hockey team Feb. 12 in an 11-0 win over Beaver Dam in a state tournament play-in game at the Waupaca Expo Center.
Waupaca Area advanced to a regional final Feb. 14 against top-seeded Brookfield Central.
Bobbi Sue Sell, Molly Guyer, Tasha Smith, Mandy Tomlinson and Brianne Huettner found the net twice for Waupaca Area, while Katherine Haen also scored. Huettner and Guyer shared the assist lead with three each, while McKenna Orr and Tomlinson added two and Oceana Martinez one.
Cassie Rasmussen finished with three saves as Waupaca Area outshot Beaver Dam 53-3.
