Hohn, Petermann sign national letters of intent

Two Clintonville star athletes have signed their national letters of intent and will compete in athletics at Division 2 colleges next year.

Kyle Petermann and Samantha Hohn signed their letters at halftime of the girl’s basketball game on Friday, Feb. 15.

Samantha Hohn, daughter of Dan and Stacy Hohn, was recruited by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Marquette, Notre Dame, and Jacksonville State. She chose UW-Parkside because of the team philosophy and dynamics, great coaching, and beautiful campus.

Here is a brief list of Samantha’s accomplishments:

• 8 time Clintonville High School letter winner

• Clintonville High School Honor Roll continuous, all 4 years

• Participated in Clintonville High School Volleyball, Basketball, Cross Country, and Track

• 3200m school record holder during freshman year improving record each following season

• 4x800m school record holder during junior year

• Track runner of the year for Clintonville Track 2012

• 3 time Track state qualifier

• 4 time 1st team All Conference Track, WIAA Eastern Valley

• 6th place finish for 4x800m relay WIAA Division 2 State Championships 2011

• 7th place finish for 4x800m relay WIAA Division 2 State Championships 2012

• 11th place finish for 3200m run WIAA Division 2 State Championships 2012

• 3 time MVP Cross Country

• 3 time Cross Country state qualifier

• 15th place finish for WIAA Division 2 State Championships 2012

• 3 time 1st team All Conference Cross Country, WIAA Easter Valley

• 3 time 1st team All County Fall Athlete

Samantha has enjoyed her time as a Clintonville athlete and is looking forward to her collegiate position as a Ranger for UW-Parkside.

Dan and Stacy Hohn appreciate the many coaches, Clintonville school, and community for many great programs that provided the opportunity and direction for Samantha to develop into the great young lady she is today.

Kyle Petermann, son of Robert and Karen Petermann, was recruited by Michigan Tech, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Indiana, Marquette, Cornell, and Dartmouth. He chose Michigan Tech for strong academics, and the strong family values held by the team at Michigan Tech.

• Clintonville High School Honor Roll continuous, all 4 years

• Ranked 2nd in High School Senior Class of 2013

• 3.95 GPA

• AP Scholar

• National Honor Society Inductee

• Academic Letters

• Participated in Clintonville High School Football (4 years), Basketball (2 years) and Track (will be 4 years)

• School Record holder in Discus (172′ 10″)

• School Record holder in Shot (51′ 10 1/4)

• Broke the discus record (dated back to 1953) during Sophomore season and continued to improve the record during sophomore and junior seasons

• Broke CHS’s shot put record multiple times during junior season

• Team Captain – Track and Football

• Eastern Valley Conference MVP Field Event Athlete – Junior year

• Most Valuable Field Event Athlete Clintonville High School – Sophomore year

• Most Valuable Field Event Athlete Clintonville High School – Junior year

• Placed 3rd in the Discus – WIAA Division 2 State Championships 2012

• Placed 10th in the Shot – WIAA Division 2 State Championships 2012

• First team All-Conference Track, Eastern Valley – Discus 2012

Kyle has enjoyed his time as a Clintonville athlete and is looking forward to his collegiate career as a Husky at Michigan Tech, located in Houghton, Michigan. Kyle will be majoring in Software Engineering.
