Truckers fall to Comets

The Trucker boys varsity baseball team lost to the Waupaca Comets by a score of 3-1 on Monday, April 22.

Overcast skies and mild temperatures gave the teams a chance to play, as the rain held off. W.A. Olen Athletic Field at Don Jirschele Stadium was in good condition for the game, despite the long, cold spring.

Clintonville scored one run in the first inning. Austin Paisar ripped a double to right-center field and Turner Doornink drilled an RBI single to bring Paisar home.

Waupaca struck back with three runs in the fourth inning. Jake Reedy had a double and Alex Grall had an RBI to lead the Comet offense.

Clintonville finished with one run on five hits with one error. Waupaca had three runs on five hits with no errors.

Winning pitcher was Zander Neuville, while Turner Doornink took the loss for Clintonville.
