Lick, Fred

Fred Lick, age 81, of Waupaca passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 2, 2013.

Fred was born in Milwaukee on March 24, 1932, the son of the late Fred W. and Erna M.B. (Herrmann) Lick. On September 22, 1956 Fred married Harriet Firehammer Mortson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Fred worked for 35 years at Kimberly-Clark and was a Wisconsin National Guard member. He loved camping, reading, feeding the birds, keeping the fireplace going in the winter, gardening and lawn work and recording the temperature, rain and snowfall. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. F

red is survived by his wife, Harriet Lick, Waupaca; his children: Lisa (Randy) Schultz, Waupaca; Nathan (Kim) Lick, Waupaca and Matthew (Terri) Lick, Waupaca; his grandchildren: Alison (Dan Klotzbuecher) Lick; Abby (Kevin) Bradley; Jessica (Thomas) Kurth; Ryan (Christine) Schultz; Betsy (Daniel Botting) Lick; Ryan Lick; Becky (Karl Schwoegler) Lick; Samantha and Bailey Lick; Jason (Lacey Schnurer) Spick; Connie Spick; his great-grandchildren: Caden Lick, Wacey Garton, Ryder Schultz, Derek Kurth, Remmington Schultz, Bryce Bartel, Hailey Lick, Cashtyn Botting, Tatum and Casey Spick. Also surviving are his sisters, Audrey Christensen, Pine River and Ellen Eastman, Shawano; sister-in-law, Paddy (Lorin) Stewart, Saxeville; brother-in-law, Allen (Karen) Mortson, Gillett, WY. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jim Lick and brothers-in-law, Bud Christensen and Bob Eastman.

The Memorial Service will be on Thursday, July 11 at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waupaca with Reverend Dr. Charles Tews, officiating. Burial will be in the Parfreyville Cemetery, Town of Dayton. Visitation will be on Thursday morning from 9 to 11 AM at the church. A memorial fund has been established. Holly Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
