Bernice I. Krueger, age 85, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, WI.
She was born in Racine, WI, on July 15, 1927, a daughter of the late William A. and Anna E. (Peterson) Mertins. Bernice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. She also had been a member of the Waupaca Lioness Club. Bernice enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially loved babysitting for her great grandchildren. Bernice also enjoyed trips to the casino, bowling, gardening, and going out to eat Friday nights with her group of friends.
Survivors include her daughters, Wendy (Gene) Nollenberg, Ogdensburg, WI; Terri (Brian) Smith, Waupaca, WI; step-children: Nancy (Del) Delzer, Hancock, WI; Jim (Carol) Krueger; Randy (Maureen) Krueger, Green Bay, WI; grandchildren: Dr. Joshua Nollenberg, Geneva, NY; Nathaniel Nollenberg, Ogdensburg, WI; Joy Nollenberg, St. Paul, MN; Christopher (Alison) Smith, Waupaca, WI; Lindsay (Jason) Guyette, Waupaca, WI; Emily Smith, Waupaca, WI; great grandchildren: Michael, Austin, Idalis, Carter, Kingston, Callie and Mya; and a brother, Richard (Janet) Mertins, Brookfield, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband – Harold Shonts, husband – Arthur Krueger, two brothers and two sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca at 1 PM on Saturday, July 6th, 2013, with Reverend Jennifer DeNetz officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Baldwins Mill Cemetery, Town Royalton, Waupaca Co., WI. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
